The Spanish Consulate in Havana recently published a reminder regarding a message related to credentials for appointments under the Democratic Memory Law (DML).
"Reminder: To streamline the LMD appointment system, all credentials received before 1/1/1 will be deleted on October 24st. Appointments can only be booked with credentials received before that date during the month of September." announced this September 12 from the social network X.
Let us remember that last week, the consular headquarters announced the depuration of its appointment system for Spanish nationality under the LMD.
In this regard, they warned that "all users who received their credentials before that date and have not yet booked an appointment will only be able to do so with those credentials during the month of September."
They also clarified: "The reservation process must be made before October 1st; the appointment may be for a day after this date. Please bring your reservation receipt with you to your appointment."
Delays in appointments for the Democratic Memory Law in Cuba
Applicants for Spanish nationality under the Democratic Memory Law residing in Cuba report excessive delays in the process.
Some have been waiting nine months to obtain access information for appointments, and others have gone more than seven months without receiving their credentials. They are calling for faster procedures and easier access to citizenship.
The Government has extended until October 2025 The deadline to apply for Spanish nationality under the Democratic Memory Law has passed. Since its approval, more than 301.000 applications have been received, with a sharp increase in countries such as Argentina and Cuba, which account for more than half of the total.

What's happening with appointments for minors? It's impossible to get them. There should be another mechanism, because apparently there are few of them or something is wrong with this. We've been trying to get appointments for a long time, it's impossible.
My husband and son submitted their credential file on May 1, 2024, we are worriedcupupset by the enormous delay.
I hope that the procedures are viable, especially in terms of both the credentials and the volume and folio.
For each day of delay in the Consulate's payment, they should increase the expiration date of the LMD by one day, which ultimately should NOT expire.
