The Spanish Consulate General in Havana has published an important notification on the social network X regarding credentials.
Below we reproduce the entire text message:
In order to streamline the appointment booking system for Law 20/2022 on Democratic Memory and thus offer better service, the platform manager will proceed, on October 1, to delete all users who received their credentials (username and password) before January 1, 2024.
Therefore, all users who received their credentials before that date and have not yet booked an appointment will only be able to do so with those credentials during the month of September.
Please note that the reservation must be made before October 1st; the appointment may be for a day after this date. Please bring your reservation receipt with you to your appointment.
The first reactions to the Spanish consulate's tweet are coming in. User EspañaenlasVenas criticized: "The wait for credentials is already 9 months. Is it going to drop to 4? At the rate they're issuing LMD credentials, we'll die before we're registered. It's all very sad."
Vagner Valik, for his part, observed: "But if they haven't even reached January 1st, they're going for December 10th. Does that mean they'll issue the missing credentials between today and tomorrow?"
Recently, our editorial team learned that several credentials had been issued for early and mid-December 2023. Finally, after several days of hiatus, the consulate had moved the dates forward to December 8.
Deadline for the Democratic Memory Law
The extension of the Grandchildren's Law offers a respite to those aspiring to Spanish nationality, but uncertainty about the future of the process and persistent delays in processing in Cuba keep thousands of applicants waiting.

It's already abusive to wait so long, and to sell appointments at high prices. How long will this business last?
Good evening, I don't understand why my PDF is dated November 27. I filed a claim on August 20 and haven't received a response or credentials. Regards.
