What can be sent to Cuba by postal mail?

In accordance with the regulations of the General Customs Office of the Republic of Cuba, for shipments via postal mail to the island, up to 10 kg of miscellaneous items may be sent to Cuba, for a maximum total value of USD 200.00 per shipment. It is recommended that senders include the official invoice for the items they are sending with their shipment.

Please note that Cuban Customs considers miscellaneous items to be sent by postal mail to the island: footwear, clothing, food, personal hygiene and household items, jewelry, perfumes, and lingerie.

Furthermore, all household appliances and other durable equipment, as well as their parts and components, and other similar items, are not classified as miscellaneous items in a postal shipment to the Island. Since they are not considered miscellaneous items, these items are valued individually by the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba. They are not weighed; only the customs value of each item contained in the postal shipment is considered, within the value limit of the shipment itself (maximum total value of USD 200.00).

Equipment that can be sent by postal mail to the Island:

  •     Air conditioners, of any type and model, as long as the power of the equipment does not exceed one ton or 12000 BTU, which is the established requirement.
  •     Electromagnetic induction ceramic hobs and stoves of any type and model, provided that the appliance's power consumption does not exceed 1500 watts per burner.
  •     Electric microwave ovens or infrared ovens, of any type and any model, as long as the electrical consumption of the equipment does not exceed 2000 watts.
  •     Flat-screen televisions, provided that the dimensions of the equipment do not exceed 32 inches.
