Breaking News: Mass accident in Ciego de Ávila. At least 20 injured, some critically.

The Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola Hospital, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, is attending to the injured from the mass accident that occurred in the community of La Caoba, municipality of Venezuela.

Dr. Inés Padrón González, a specialist in Intensive Care and Emergencies and head of the Emergency and Urgent Care Service at the hospital, gave a statement regarding the medical condition of the patients.

Three patients are in critical condition

According to the specialist, 20 patients have been received so far, although not all of the injured have yet arrived at the hospital. Of that total, three are in critical condition.

Two of them suffered severe head trauma and the third had abdominal trauma with free fluid in the cavity, which represents a high risk and could require emergency surgery.

These three cases are considered the most serious being treated at the hospital at present.

Most of the injured are in stable condition

The rest of the patients are out of danger. Dr. Padrón explained that the most serious injuriesuneThey are of an orthopedic nature, such as bruises on elbows, knees and feet, in addition to minor wounds that are not life-threatening.

These injuries are being treated in the minor surgery area by the center's specialists.

There are still patients waiting to be received

Health authorities confirmed that there are still people to be transferred from the Policlínico de Venezuela, where several injured people are receiving preliminary care.

Most of these cases involve minor abrasions, bumps, and bruises. They are expected to be transferred to the provincial hospital in the coming hours for final evaluation and medical follow-up.

A seriously ill patient awaiting transfer

Among those injured still at the Policlínico de Venezuela, a patient stands out with a pelvic fracture and the presence of free fluid in the abdominal cavity.

This case will be transferred to Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola Hospital to be re-evaluated and determine if it requires surgical intervention or will remain under intensive medical observation.

The medical staff at Luaces Iraola Hospital are working in a coordinated manner to ensure immediate care for all the injured.
