Make an appointment at the Mexican Embassy in Cuba

The Consulate General of the United Mexican States in Cuba is one of the consulates that handles the largest number of applications and procedures daily.

Do you know what you need to do to get a visa appointment or for another procedure?

To make an appointment, you must wait for the embassy to enable this service. Then, you must use the Mexitel Cuba online system, which you can access from here.

When you open the new page, you'll be asked to create an account or log in if you've already done so. To register, you must provide an email address. (preferably gmail) and create a password that you won't easily forget, with a minimum of 15 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, and special characters.

When can I get my appointment?

The Mexican embassy accredited in Havana offers biweekly (with the new system it is not known if the same pace will continue), a number of appointments depending on the material and human capacities available at that time.

The past luneOn January 13, 2020, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the new system for obtaining appointments at this embassy was launched. The appointments offered are for both "procedures without NUT" and "procedures with NUT" and for document legalization.

On this occasion, some 2 visa appointments were issued, corresponding to the month of January 238 to February 16. of 2020.

We also recommend that you have your email open on the exact day and time the Mexitel Cuba system will be activated. This is necessary because the consulate will send you the appointment confirmation via this means. (even several days later).

The faster you fill out the form, the better your chances of getting your appointment. We recommend using a VPN and the Firefox browser.

You should be aware that it won't be an easy process, as there are many interested parties like you. But luck belongs to those who strive.

What should you keep in mind on the day of your appointment?

If you want to obtain a Mexican visa, the first thing you must demonstrate is that you have financial solvency. In other words, that you have enough money or possessions to support your trip to Mexico.

It would be important to have a property title in your name, whether for a home or a car. Also, a bank account with more than $1950, preferably at least three months old.

The procedures will always be carried out in person and directly at the Consulate in Havana.

For Cubans, the maximum time allowed in Mexican territory is 180 days, or approximately six months.

What requirements must be presented?

  • Printing the Receipt of the scheduled appointment
  • Form completely filled out with a blue or black pen and on both sides.
  • Valid passport and a copy of the main page (where your information and photo are located). If necessary, make copies of previous visas or stamps.
  • You must bring a recent photograph with your face visible and without glasses, in color, and 39.0 x 31.0 millimeters, with a white background and facing forward.
  • Proof of your financial solvency and properties.

If you have been definitively approved, you will receive your passport and visa one business day at the consulate. If the authorities require further information, they will inform you promptly.

The Mexican Consulate reiterates that obtaining visas is free of charge. It asks applicants to report any third party who demands they pay any amount to obtain the aforementioned appointments.
