Cupet details how gas will be sold in Havana: not everyone will have access

Authorities of CUPET announced the restoration of liquefied gas supplies to Havana and other western provinces such as Artemisa and Mayabeque, but not everyone will have access. The Liquefied Gas Company, belonging to the Cuba-Petroleum Union (CUPET), reported to official media that, once the liquefied petroleum gas is received at the port of Havana, commercial operations will be immediately reactivated to guarantee supply in the provinces of Havana, Artemisa, and Mayabeque.

The organization explained that organizational measures have been adopted to achieve a fairer and more equitable distribution of the product, given the current fuel shortage affecting the population.

However, the plan will prioritize those customers who were unable to acquire the product in previous cycles, thus avoiding accumulation and shortages in certain sectors.

According to official information, the sale will cover all municipalities in the three provinces, with daily planning based on the number of customers per point of sale and distribution by area.

However, according to customer reviews in Havana, not everything is so "organized" in reality.

A user identified as Fidel Rangel, from La Lisa, described lines of up to three days to buy gas at a point of sale, denouncing local corruption: "The administrator... sells appointments for up to 5 pesos to 'coleros'... which not only delays access to gas for families... but also creates tension."

Even the government has said that inspections in the capital revealed serious problems, such as the illegal appropriation of cylinders in areas such as Playa, 10 de Octubre, and Habana del Este.

During the first five days of the reactivation, only customers who were pending their February cycle until the 27th and who did not purchase gas in June will be able to purchase gas. In this initial phase, the purchase of only one cylinder per customer will be permitted, with the aim of ensuring that more families have access to the service.

The company assured that, after this period, it will inform the company how the process will continue, depending on product availability.

Furthermore, the daily distribution of cylinders It will be disseminated both at points of sale and on the entity's digital institutional channels.

For inquiries or complaints, customers can contact the Customer Service Group at 78643289 and 78635444, or in person at the headquarters located at 711 Águila Street, between Monte and Estrella Streets, in Centro Habana.

  1. You know what that means? People go crazy because most people don't have an electric or induction stove. Also, if there was gas, electricity consumption would be lower. In addition, large towns used to get it more often. Now, one person who has gas lasts used to get it every 1 days. Now, they save it and sell it when it's their turn. However, I'm 45. Sorry, before it was every 7 days, now it's when I come, but I worry.cupOr because the one who is one takes it just like me, those are the ones who sell it for 12000 pesos, I can't afford that luxury.

  2. Those who sell also have to do with it because behind an extremist there is an opportunist who makes a point that doesn't help the elderly or mothers with children and if it doesn't affect you even if you were from that point it doesn't advance you anything and what did he do? He sold his people very expensively and today he is out of Cuba with that money that Yunque made here, resentful and they are enjoying it. That happened in a neighborhood of Arroyo Naranjo.

  3. Because in cases like mine, who don't have a contract for it, having my book and my property, I don't have the right to buy liquefied gas, not even at a higher price, I have a newborn and since January I can't buy any, (be careful, 12,000 pesos if I want everything, but it's abusive because I don't have the means or economy for that and with a newborn much less) I would like you to evaluate this situation because it is unacceptable to have to lack it knowing the limitations we all have and the lack of electricity to cook, to this I add that I pay almost 10,000 pesos for electricity 5 months ago since I ran out of the last cylinder I managed to buy. Greetings, think and find a solution for us if possible. Thank you

  4. The port of market #0079 still has 80 or so customers from December. They will control the diversion and illegal sales. Now, keep an eye on them and the authorities.
